WHAT ABOUT BILL? LIVE + chat

Festival ticket, valid between Jan 29th, 2015 and Jan 29th, 2015

LINKS

During a night in jail two wicked watchmen allowed WHAT ABOUT BILL?'s founding members Chris Wolff and Dero Goi (from OOMPH!, German pioneer of “Neue Deutsche Härte” aka tanzmetal) to take part in an open-vocal-session in a New Yorker jailhouse.

To get caught in the act and imprisoned while urinating in public in the USA is a pretty serious thing. But when the fate turns the unlucky episode to a musical coincidence in custody, and later to a band act covering famous rock songs in a jazz-like fashion, one can't help but believe in higher powers - or destiny at the most.

Jartse Tuominen (FIN) is a talented guitarist, composer and a producer with devotion and style varying from progressive jazz to rock fusion. Tuominen's expressive guitar playing has been noticed worldwide: Amon others a German Rock Magazine "Rock/Metal heaven" nominated him as one of the Top Guitarists in Europe.

"How to describe the music? Let's assume that Billy Cobham, Steve Gadd, Al Di Meola, Steve Vai, Steve Morse, Billy Sheehan and Jaco Pastorius were in the audience at a Jartse Tuominen gig. They would certainly recognize aspects of their own music, but they wouldn't be able to keep their butts on the bench." (Review of Jartse's CD Time of Change by Guitar Nine News for June, 2008.)

Dead by April LIVE + chat

Festival ticket, valid between Jan 30th, 2015 and Jan 30th, 2015

LINKS

Dead by April, an uncompromising metal quintet from Gothenburg, Sweden, have been classified under various genres from melodic metalcore and death to nu. By breaking the rules - and not giving a crap about the conventional categories - their fusion of soaring, catching melodies combined with a healthy dose of relentless riffing, clean singing and coarse screaming results in a an unheard and unprecedented blend of pop and metal.

Ambition, creativity and musicianship are a few keywords easily associated with Dead by April, strongly reflecting the beginning of the band. Even if most members of the band had already made names for themselves among metal enthusiasts, this pristinely new-formed entity's ambition stretches very far beyond the small, dark cellars of the underground stages. They're bringing their musical vision and dream to the great masses!

Cønstantine LIVE + chat

Festival ticket, valid between Jan 30th, 2015 and Jan 30th, 2015

LINKS

Cønstantine are one of the most interesting metal bands arising from Finland at the moment. In the heart of Central Finland, emerges a new breed of talent and style, which shakes up the progressive-metal world and its dinosaurs. This quintets' sense for melodies, inexcusably tight rhythms and pure musical power are bound to leave any fan of prog-metal desperately on their knees, wondering what hit them.

Yet, Cønstantine doesn’t only settle for the traditional progressive paths, but also mixes up modern styles of alternative rock and metal to their music, while staying true to the melodies and atmosphere of the songs itself.

Despite the band excelling on the album, one should see the band in its true element – on stage. Renowned for their energetic live shows and high standard of performing, the band leaves no one feeling lukewarm after a show.

RHAPSODY, the Italian symphonic power metal band led by Luca Turilli, refers the band's style as "Cinematic metal" to underline Turilli's passion for the world of cinema and soundtracks.

The band's debut album “Legendary Tales“ was released in 1997. One year later their second album “Symphony Of Enchanted Lands” followed. With this album a new genre “Hollywood Metal” aka “Film Score Metal” was created. The genre influenced a whole generation of new bands in the years to follow and RHAPSODY became one of the most important acts of the last decade in the world of heavy/rock music.

After 15 years, 10 official albums, and more than 1,500,000 copies sold worldwide, an era of RHAPSODY's came to an end when the founding members Luca Turilli and keyboard player Alex Staropoli decided to proceed with a friendly split and continue their artistic careers separately.

The newly formed RHAPSODY's first album, Ascending to Infinity, was released in 2012 and is referred to as their own "Rhapsody's 11th album".

Turmion Kätilöt

Event ended Oct 10th, 2013 - 21:15 your time

Turmion Kätilöt, hailed of industrial metal, black humor and self-mutilation on stage, are releasing their fifth album ”Technodiktator” in September. According to the band, the new material is so wretched that even they can't comprehend what the new album represents. Thus listener discretion is advised.

From the very start, Turmion Kätilöt have suffered from a reputation as a breathtaking live band. They're known for their spectacles full of energy, dedication - and sadomasochism. Our sophisticated guess is that the upcoming gig is not going to be any different.

We dare you!
The stream is produced by Klubi and streamed live online via LiveMusicStage.

Swallow The Sun

Event ended Sep 26th, 2013 - 21:30 your time

This Fall marks the 10th anniversary of Swallow The Sun's debut album The Morning Never Came. Some of the songs will be performed live for the very first time with the addition of the band's more recent material.

When released The Morning Never Came stunned the critics and made even the sturdiest metal studs weep: the album was quoted as “One of doom metal's finest moments to date” (Kerrang). Not much, if nothing, has the decade decayed.

The stream is produced by Klubi and streamed live by LiveMusicStage.

Don Giovanni

Event ended Aug 24th, 2013 - 19:45 your time

The incorrigible ladies man. His victims. The inevitability of destruction. Mozart’s classic opera offers a framework for an emerging generation of musicians to forge a new form of expression. The light-hearted charm and comedy of this riveting score are used to good effect to depict a community morally adrift. In this modern take, affluent young people party and photograph and film themselves and each other endlessly. Even death itself is reduced to the role of a jester.

The drama finds itself tantalisingly placed in the middle ground between comedy and tragedy, burlesque and grotesque. It derives its power from a roll call of fresh young vocal talent and complex video projection. The production is a theatrical opera but also a live film projected simultaneously onto two screens.
