Popeda, The Mammoth of Manserock – a sub-genre of Finnish rock 'n' roll hailing from Tampere – has fueled the Finns for a massive 35 years. The band kick-started their anniversary celebrations at LiveMusicStage in December so it's only appropriate that the grande finale is streamed across the universe: Catch the Finnish Cocks-Of-The-Rock on stage at LiveMusicStage on November 16th!

The stream is produced by Klubi.

Turmion Kätilöt

Event ended Oct 10th, 2013 - 21:15 your time

Turmion Kätilöt, hailed of industrial metal, black humor and self-mutilation on stage, are releasing their fifth album ”Technodiktator” in September. According to the band, the new material is so wretched that even they can't comprehend what the new album represents. Thus listener discretion is advised.

From the very start, Turmion Kätilöt have suffered from a reputation as a breathtaking live band. They're known for their spectacles full of energy, dedication - and sadomasochism. Our sophisticated guess is that the upcoming gig is not going to be any different.

We dare you!
The stream is produced by Klubi and streamed live online via LiveMusicStage.

Swallow The Sun

Event ended Sep 26th, 2013 - 21:30 your time

This Fall marks the 10th anniversary of Swallow The Sun's debut album The Morning Never Came. These Finnish missionaries of melancholic doom, death and despair are celebrating the milestone while touring across Europe: the whole album can be heard in all of its gloomy glory in nearly 20 cities from Oulu to Milan. Some of the songs will be performed live for the very first time with the addition of the band's more recent material.

When released The Morning Never Came stunned the critics and made even the sturdiest metal studs weep: the album was quoted as “One of doom metal's finest moments to date” (Kerrang). Not much, if nothing, has the decade decayed.

The stream is produced by Klubi and streamed live by LiveMusicStage.

Kaizers Orchestra

Event ended Sep 14th, 2013 - 22:40 your time

Kaizers Orchestra's very last show will be available for live streaming!

But they will not go gently into that good night! The very last show of this tremendous career of ompa takes place on home turf in Stavanger on Saturday the 14th of september. Only 5,500 people will fit into the arena on the night, but now, thanks to the wonders of LiveMusicStage, we also offer an online seat in the front row! Rage against the dying of the light!

Please notice that the stream will start at 9 PM Norwegian time, instead of the 7.30 PM time that has been published in some places.

Don Giovanni

Event ended Aug 24th, 2013 - 19:45 your time

The incorrigible ladies man. His victims. The inevitability of destruction. Mozart’s classic opera offers a framework for an emerging generation of musicians to forge a new form of expression. The light-hearted charm and comedy of this riveting score are used to good effect to depict a community morally adrift. In this modern take, affluent young people party and photograph and film themselves and each other endlessly. Even death itself is reduced to the role of a jester.

The drama finds itself tantalisingly placed in the middle ground between comedy and tragedy, burlesque and grotesque. It derives its power from a roll call of fresh young vocal talent and complex video projection. The production is a theatrical opera but also a live film projected simultaneously onto two screens.

Rival Sons

Event ended Jun 8th, 2013 - 22:30 your time

See Rival Sons live from Kivenlahti Rock! Pitched somewhere between the loose revivalism of Jack White and the groove of Alabama Shakes, Rival Sons possess a chimera-like character: a jazz -trained rhythm section that met at Isaac Hayes’ house, a garage-rock fuzzadelic guitar maestro, and a Blues rooted street singer with the powerful raw delivery of rock and the sensitivity of a Laurel Canyon trip.

This concert is produced by Eastway and streamed live online via LiveMusicStage.

Youngblood Brass Band

Event ended Jun 1st, 2013 - 23:00 your time

Youngblood Brass Band are large and loud: They bring out a civil disturbance with raised fists, a plenty of sweat, a little blood and a lot of purpose. The globe-trotting riot jazzers focus on creating progressive, raw, acoustic, modern, dance-til-you-mean-it music. The ten-member ensemble, born in Wisconsin, combines the inspiration taken from the traditional New Orleans brass band sound with influences from jazz music, improvised music, a decidedly punk ethos, and a strong hip hop component.

Having been killing it all around the world over the past decade, Youngblood Brass Band's intense on-stage aesthetic secured their status as an incredible group to see live, whether in intimate club settings or on international festival stages.

Anssi Kela

Event ended May 16th, 2013 - 20:55 your time

Anssi Kela's comeback to the Finnish charts has been one of the best news of this spring. The somewhat serious folk-singer from the past albums has stepped aside as the new, poppier and happier bloke prefers sounds and zest from the eighties.

Kela's debut, Nummela (2001), is one of the most successful Finnish records by selling fivefold platinum. The fifth album Anssi Kela was released in March.

The gig is produced by Klubi and streamed live via LiveMusicStage.

Very rarely can we realize all of it and that makes it so special”, says Mark Jansen of Epica.

Stone

Event ended Mar 2nd, 2013 - 00:00 your time

The legends ride again! From mid-80's to early 90's this group of four young extremely talented musicians changed Finnish metal and kickstarted the scene that has just kept on growing ever since.

During their rather short career they recorded only four studio albums and one live album, but their impact on the entire Finnish scene was just huge. Ask just about any modern Finnish metal band and they'll tell you it was Stone who influenced them the most.

The band reunited for a few gigs in Finland in 1999 and 2000 and again in 2008.

Voimaryhmä

Event ended Feb 14th, 2013 - 23:00 your time

The eight-member stomping crew Voimaryhmä has been refining ska music in Finland since 1997 being one of the pioneers in the field. The band released their third album ”Rudistan” last year with great reviews appraising their up-beat rhythms with brash brass horns, guitars and sassy singing.

The National Day Of Live Gigs And Concerts is celebrated in Finland on February 14th. The day is dedicated to the vast variety of live music - of bands and venues - in Finland and encourages people to enjoy and experience music at its best: live and loud. LiveMusicStage joins the festivities by offering a free live stream from Klubi in Tampere.

Anneke van Giersbergen & Danny Cavanagh

Event ended Jan 31st, 2013 - 21:00 your time

Acoustic Sessions Tour! The former frontwoman of The Gathering, Anneke van Giersbergen, lights the stage at LiveMusicStage together with Anathema's Danny Cavanagh on Thursday January 31st. The couple's sold out mini tour in Finland highlights the undeniable talent of two long-time friends through an intimate acoustic performance devoted to the duo's own bands (Agua de Annique / The Gathering and Anathema) as well as covering their personal favorites such as Massive Attack and Fleetwood Mac.

For the past four years, Anneke van Giersbergen has been touring successfully as a solo artist, both in her home country and across the globe. She has also been involved in several interesting co-projects with the likes of Within Temptation, Anathema and she has already been seen at LiveMusicStage together with the eccentric multi-talent Devin Townsend.

Daniel ”Danny” Cavanagh is a singer and guitarist and a founder of the British progressive rock band Anathema. In the band that has outgrown all genres Danny has been responsible for much of the songwriting and production behind the wildly famous Liverpudlian combo.

The Acoustic Sessions gig is produced by Klubi and streamed live via LiveMusicStage.

Rotten Sound

Event ended Jan 23rd, 2013 - 23:00 your time

Finnish crust grindcore combo Rotten Sound are celebrating their 20th anniversary of Grindcore and Chaos over 2013. Since their inception in the early '90s, Rotten Sound have been loyal to their angry, claustrophobic, mercilessly abrasive approach to death metal and grindcore - and the moshers show no sign of softening their blows this year. The crushing party began with the release of the “Species at War” EP in January and the wrecking continues with tours and festival performances all around the globe. 2013 promises to become the most intense year in the two decades of Rotten Sound‘s brutally violent and ferocious existence: “We are determined to arrange one hell of a party and working very hard to bring our music to the ears of as many people as possible”, states frontman Keijo Niinimaa.

The Rotten Sound gig is produced by Klubi and streamed live online via LiveMusicStage.

Ne Luumäet

Event ended Dec 30th, 2012 - 00:00 your time

Finnish Ramones-influenced punk missionaries, Ne Luumäet, are publishing a massive box covering all of their recordings and celebrating it with a brief tour in December. The legendary band who stopped touring over twenty years ago are denying any rumors about a resurrection saying that this is anything but a comeback.

”Instead of a comeback we could call it a Getout. Our expiration date is 29.12.2012 and after that we won't be practicing or playing ever again,” claims the guitarist Heko Luumäki.

The sold out show in Helsinki suggests that these priests of ”ramopunk” are gonna be preaching to full houses: book your online ticket asap to see their last show ever from live Tampere.

This gig is produced by Klubi and streamed online via LiveMusicStage.

Medeia

Event ended Dec 22nd, 2012 - 00:00 your time

Medeia, one of the darkest stars of the Finnish alternative death metal sky, celebrates their 10th anniversary appropriately at the dawn of the Mayan apocalypse, on December 21st. The band's only club gig for the year will take place at Klubi in Medeia's hometown Tampere. The three apocalyptic albums of Medeia's has built the band a reputation as technically skilled, modern messengers of brutality, pure hate, altruistic melancholy and unmitigated rage.

To the guitarist Samuli Peltola ten years is not long a time. Yet the decade includes an interesting development from an odd project band to the ultimate evangelists of the end of the worlds.

”Our inner vision hasn't changed over the years. The renowned distorted output of ours will be bought to you also in the future in the form of pervy riffs and monumental melodies. The upcoming album is going to present Medeia as more evil and intimate than ever before,” Peltola promises.

The gig is produced by Klubi and streamed live onlive vie LiveMusicStage.

Lauri Tähkä

Event ended Dec 15th, 2012 - 22:30 your time

Lauri Tähkä, The Finnish Male Artist of the Year, ties up his year long tour in Tampere in December. Tähkä's first solo album Polte (”Ardor”) was released last fall with the impression that he had shed his skin after the years with a popular folk rock combo Elonkerjuu: The new Finnish Tiger of Wales is more of a rocker today.

Tähkä has announced taking a break for producing new material after this last show in Tampere. Thus this live stream is the last opportunity to catch his perfomance in a long while!

Lauri Tähkä's online gig is produced by Klubi and streamed live via LiveMusicStage.

Jade Hopcroft

Event ended Dec 4th, 2012 - 23:00 your time

Jade Hopcroft's music has captured the imagination of many in her short career so far. Her powerful, show-stopping voice combined with her superbly crafted, immediate song-writing makes her not only a formidable live performer, but an exceptional recording artist too. Her vocal performances have led to valid comparisons to the likes of Stevie Nicks, First Aid Kit and Laura Marling.

The 24-year-old from Cornwall has played shows with luminaries such as Luke Sital-Singh, Matt Corby, Roo Panes and Rachel Sermanni in 2012, alongside an intimate performance at Brighton’s annual Great Escape Festival. Already having performed at Ronnie Scott’s, Union Chapel, The Bedford and at the Society Of The Golden Slippers, Jade has demonstrated her live show in an array of settings befitting her talent.

After moving to London earlier this year, she was PRS Magazine’s “Artist Of The Week” (30 July) and tastemaker blogs such as The Drunken Warewolf and Killing Moon have already lent their support to this talented young artist. “Compelling on first, second and tenth listen” said the latter, and it’s surely only a matter of time before this sentiment spreads further afield. Jade's debut single "Saint" will be released via Laissez Faire Club on 19 November 2012.

Shea

Event ended Dec 4th, 2012 - 23:00 your time

Shea (born Shea Bryce) was raised in Croydon, South London in circumstances that, by her own admission, were 'tricky'. Growing up on a rundown council estate she was born to an English mother of Irish descent and Jamaican father who was essentially absent from her life from the word go. "Where Did You Go?", (released 28th January 2013 on ThisIsArea7) the first single from her debut album, alludes to the 'mess left behind' by broken relationships, and evokes smoky jazz clubs, and puts a new twist on an era where double bass and snare brushes ruled the live circuit.

Following a brief stint at the now ubiquitous Brit School, and an equally mismatched spell trying to form an R'n'B girl group, Shea realised she needed to 'make things happen' on her own terms. In the last few years she has paid her dues on the live and club circuit, featuring on tracks for the likes of legendary UK Garage producer MJ Cole - she has also worked with some of the most credible underground UK talent ranging grom Toddla T through to Shy FX. It was a chance to hook up with Attacca Pesante that led to Shea's best known collaboration to date - "Make It Funky For Me", on of the corner stones of the UK Funky scene.

The man himself explains:

”The Retinal Circus is a retrospective of my career in music to date, with the central theme being a metaphor of how life and the adventures therein are a 'circus' of sorts. This is the first opportunity I have been given to make theatrical representations of my music.”

”The show involves a cast of characters and guests that support this theme through carnival type performances. A story about how a troubled young man dreams of fantastic scenarios, (illustrated through the music of my back catalog), which ultimately crests in the characters realization that life is all about the relationships we have with each other.”

”My career has been full of amazing musicians, and a few of them will be present at this show in one form or another, and I'll be playing music that has never been attempted due to the size of the songs and the need for certain things.”

The basic principles were clear from the very start: Make it your own way, become professional, have an international career, try to stay open for new things and keep your act straight but adventurous, write stories that are strong, funny, sad, happy, weird... and play them to people.

Now that was a long time ago, but their newest twist on this is "Lime Green DeLorean", a great album full of soulful rock tunes.

They are also putting up a marvelous live show. If you haven't yet seen them perform live or just want to "get intimate" with the bunch, this is a gig not to miss!
