Youngblood Brass Band

Event starts Jun 1st, 2013 - 20:00 your time [?]

LINKS

Youngblood Brass Band are large and loud: They bring out a civil disturbance with raised fists, a plenty of sweat, a little blood and a lot of purpose. The globe-trotting riot jazzers focus on creating progressive, raw, acoustic, modern, dance-til-you-mean-it music. The ten-member ensemble, born in Wisconsin, combines the inspiration taken from the traditional New Orleans brass band sound with influences from jazz music, improvised music, a decidedly punk ethos, and a strong hip hop component.

Having been killing it all around the world over the past decade, Youngblood Brass Band's intense on-stage aesthetic secured their status as an incredible group to see live, whether in intimate club settings or on international festival stages.

Rival Sons

Event starts Jun 8th, 2013 - 19:30 your time [?]

LINKS

See Rival Sons live in HD from Kivenlahti Rock! Pitched somewhere between the loose revivalism of Jack White and the groove of Alabama Shakes, Rival Sons possess a chimera-like character: a jazz -trained rhythm section that met at Isaac Hayes’ house, a garage-rock fuzzadelic guitar maestro, and a Blues rooted street singer with the powerful raw delivery of rock and the sensitivity of a Laurel Canyon trip.

This concert is produced by Eastway and streamed live online via LiveMusicStage.

Anssi Kela

Event ended May 16th, 2013 - 20:55 your time [?]

Anssi Kela's comeback to the Finnish charts has been one of the best news of this spring. The somewhat serious folk-singer from the past albums has stepped aside as the new, poppier and happier bloke prefers sounds and zest from the eighties.

Kela's debut, Nummela (2001), is one of the most successful Finnish records by selling fivefold platinum. The fifth album Anssi Kela was released in March.

The gig is produced by Klubi and streamed live via LiveMusicStage.

Finnish indie rock band French Films were saluted with the European Border Breakers Award in January. Now they are back on the road with a new album coming in April.

With the their debut ”Imaginary Future” (2011) French Films was voted as the most promising band of the year by Finnish critics and the album sold heaps in Europe. Last year the band played nearly 90 gigs while touring from Roskilde and England to Spain and Japan.

The gig is produced by Klubi and streamed live via LiveMusicStage.

Epica Retrostream

Event ended Mar 23rd, 2013 - 23:00 your time [?]

Internationally renowned symphonic metal band Epica celebrates their 10th anniversary on March 23rd with a special performance titled ”Retrospect”. Joining them on stage in Eindhoven, The Netherlands, will be a 70-piece symphonic orchestra and choir, making it the band's most ambitious project ever.

Since it would be nearly impossible to take such a massive line-up on the road, Epica has partnered with LiveMusicStage who will broadcast the concert live online across the globe.

“I am looking very much forward to this show. Everything we have done and achieved in these last 10 years will come together on the 23rd of March. Playing with a big orchestra and choir brings our music even more alive, in fact that’s the way how it's meant to be. Very rarely can we realize all of it and that makes it so special”, says Mark Jansen of Epica.

The high quality live stream provides an exclusive, social concert experience with a front row view of the greatest Epica show ever: ”Retrospect” is literally a retrospective on Epica's career including new songs never performed before, with special guests and effects. It presents Epica's music the organic way − accompanied by a symphonic orchestra and a choir.

The anniversary show is expected to sell out soon, so don't miss your chance to experience another milestone in Epica's exquisite existence!

Stone

Event ended Mar 2nd, 2013 - 00:00 your time [?]

The legends ride again! From mid-80's to early 90's this group of four young extremely talented musicians changed Finnish metal and kickstarted the scene that has just kept on growing ever since.

During their rather short career they recorded only four studio albums and one live album, but their impact on the entire Finnish scene was just huge. Ask just about any modern Finnish metal band and they'll tell you it was Stone who influenced them the most.

The band reunited for a few gigs in Finland in 1999 and 2000 and again in 2008.

Voimaryhmä

Event ended Feb 14th, 2013 - 23:00 your time [?]

The eight-member stomping crew Voimaryhmä has been refining ska music in Finland since 1997 being one of the pioneers in the field. The band released their third album ”Rudistan” last year with great reviews appraising their up-beat rhythms with brash brass horns, guitars and sassy singing.

The National Day Of Live Gigs And Concerts is celebrated in Finland on February 14th. The day is dedicated to the vast variety of live music - of bands and venues - in Finland and encourages people to enjoy and experience music at its best: live and loud. LiveMusicStage joins the festivities by offering a free live stream from Klubi in Tampere.
